Eastern Zone Rugby - 7s
The boys were given a bit of a lesson today. Poor tackling and little in the way of ball security saw us lose to St Heliers, Glendowie and Tamaki. A good effort to participate though and thanks to parents for transportation. EZ boys and girls hockey is in June.

Eastern Zone Soccer
Really proud of both the Year 7 and Year 8 Soccer boys. We could only manage 12 in each team (only 1 sub vs most schools 4!), so the boys were run ragged in pool play. Despite limited practises on the asphalt at Queen Vic both teams played out of their skins on the day.
The years 8s deserve special mention, having made it to the semi-finals, they were just pipped by St Kents in the dying minutes. Jack was a legend protecting our goal and Tyler was a rock in defence.
The attacking players in the Year 7s produced some incredible goals and Roanis was all over the park. 6th out of 11 was a great result considering the calibre of the other teams.
Thanks again to the parents that were able to transport, it was unfortunate the Girls missed out because of this. I am looking forward to increasing participation from the students next year as it was a great confidence building experience.

Rippa Rugby
The Rippa Rugby Tournament will now be held on the 15th of June alongside the tackle tournament.
Thanks to all the parents who offered to help on Tuesday the 8th, hopefully you will be available on the 15th of next month.
I have organised for two Pro Sport Coaches to come to school tomorrow from 1pm to 2.30pm to accommodate the change. They will take any students who are wanting to learn more about Rugby for a skills workshop.
Permission slips for the tournament will come out after the Soccer Tournament on the 30th May.

Thanks to all the parents who helped with another great Bay Suburbs event on Thursday. The Year 5/6 boys and girls really did the school proud with some excellent individual results from Ky, Brittany and Sophia.
It was a pleasure to watch the rest of the team get in behind our finalists and then support them in the pool with fantastic team relay results. Well done to all members of the team.
